Jean and Neal Cross are married to each other and, it seems, to education. Together, they have over seventy years of experience in education, mostly in Lincoln, NE and Colorado Springs, CO public schools. Jean has been a high school teacher of gifted students, high school assistant principal with numerous responsibilities for gifted students, and district gifted program coordinator. Neal has been a teacher, district consultant for social studies, district director of curriculum, and director of a Colorado teacher alternative licensing program. Jean and Neal have experience as adjunct instructors in higher education. In these roles, they developed the knowledge, skills, and experience related to the needs of gifted students, their parents, and teachers. These experiences are now focused in their consultation service, Cross Consultation for Gifted Education.
Cross Consultation for Gifted Education provides gifted students, their parents, and their teachers with a full range of foundation services needed for success in K-12 schools and afterwards. Students and parents may receive consultation in educational planning and parents may learn skills in parenting their gifted students. Teachers are offered graduate level courses in gifted education, an advanced writing curriculum, instructional strategies for increasing rigor in secondary classrooms.
Thank you for your interest in gifted education and our company. Public education is intended as free and appropriate education for all children including those who are advanced cognitively and emotionally beyond their age peers. We believe the learning needs and emotional well-being of gifted learners should be accommodated within the school program. Our services are designed to support you.
